ICAC Operation Rosny investigates political funding allegations

The Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) is conducting Operation Rosny, an inquiry investigating whether developer Jean Nassif provided funds to Liberal Party figures to advance his interests. The investigation is examining if these payments were intended to influence factional work and to facilitate the removal of former building commissioner David Chandler from office.

During recent proceedings, witness Anita Perrottet provided testimony, frequently stating she did not recall specific details. The inquiry has previously heard evidence regarding efforts to discredit Chandler, who was appointed to oversee the building industry following high-profile construction defects in Sydney. Chandler had previously issued a prohibition order against Nassif’s company, Toplace, due to serious building defects, leading to significant friction between the commissioner and the developer.
