ICAI opens observer empanelment for January 2027 CA exams

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has invited eligible members to apply for empanelment as observers for the January 2027 Chartered Accountants examinations, including the Advanced ICITSS Test. The application window for online empanelment opens on 21 October 2026 and closes on 20 November 2026.

Observers are responsible for overseeing question-paper handling, conducting random identity checks, and submitting post-examination reports to ensure transparency. Selected members will receive an honorarium of ₹5,000 per day or session, plus ₹500 per day for local conveyance.

Eligibility requirements include being no older than 65 years as of 21 October 2026 and having been entered in the Register of Members since 1 July 2024. Applicants must also comply with specific conditions regarding relatives, coaching, and disciplinary history. The CA Intermediate examinations are scheduled for 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 January 2027, while the Foundation examinations will take place on 3, 5, 7, and 9 January 2027.
