ICAN Zaria District Chairman Shehu Abdulwahab Inaugurated, Calls for Innovation and Accountability

Hajiya Sofuratu Seghosime, President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), addressed the investiture ceremony of Malam Shehu Abdulwahab as the 12th Chairman of the Zaria District Society. She urged the new leadership to prioritize innovation, accountability, professional excellence and measurable impact for members, students and the wider accounting profession.

Seghosime highlighted the institute’s “WE ARE ICAN” agenda, emphasizing expanded access, stronger governance, technology adoption, sustainability and welfare. She announced the appointment of Mr. Jamiu Olakisan as District Coordinator to improve communication and operational effectiveness. The president also called for early mobilisation of members for the 56th Annual Accountants Conference in Abuja scheduled for October 18‑23, 2026.
