ICANN to host 87th Public Meeting in Bali, Indonesia

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has announced that its 87th Public Meeting will be held in Bali, Indonesia, from October 17 to 22, 2026. Hosted by the Indonesian Internet Domain Name Registry (PANDI), this marks the first time ICANN will hold a public meeting in Indonesia.

Key topics for the ICANN87 Annual General Meeting include discussions on the 2026 round of new Generic Top-Level Domain (gTLD) applications, following the closure of the application window which received over 1,600 major requests. Other critical agenda items involve Domain Name System (DNS) abuse, multilingual internet implementation, and improvements to ICANN’s accountability and transparency through proposed review process reforms.

The event aims to bring together the global multi-stakeholder community to advance policy-making and technical coordination to ensure a stable, secure, and unified global internet.
