ICAR and ICRISAT celebrate 50 years of partnership

During the second day of the Dryland Congress 2026 in New Delhi, a special session was held to commemorate 50 years of collaboration between the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT).

Leaders from both institutions, including former and current directors, gathered to reflect on five decades of partnership. The session focused on developing a roadmap to accelerate agricultural transformation in alignment with the Viksit Bharat 2047 goals. Officials emphasized leveraging the complementary strengths of both organizations to address emerging agricultural challenges and increase impact through scientific advancement.
