ICAR begins 2026-27 postgraduate counselling for agriculture sciences

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has commenced the 2026-27 postgraduate counselling process for agriculture and allied science disciplines, excluding the veterinary stream. Registration, choice filling, fee payment, and document uploading opened on September 29 at 5 PM via the official portal.

Candidates must complete the first round of registration and choice filling by October 2, 2026, at 11:50 PM. Round 1 seat allotment is scheduled for October 5, with university document verification following on October 6. A mop-up/final round is expected to begin on October 19.

ICAR notes that it allots universities rather than specific constituent colleges; universities subsequently manage placement within their own programs. Applicants are advised to select the maximum number of eligible choices and verify specific details such as annual fees and hostel availability directly with the respective universities. A non-refundable registration fee of ₹500 is required, followed by a ₹10,000 seat acceptance fee upon successful allotment and verification.
