ICAR conducts farmer awareness program in Patna

The Eastern Regional Research Complex of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) organized a farmer awareness program in Karai village, Naubatpur block, Patna district, as part of the ‘Save the Field’ campaign. The event, led by Director Dr. Anup Das, involved 56 farmers.

Experts provided guidance on reducing reliance on chemical fertilizers like urea and DAP, advocating instead for soil testing and organic alternatives such as green manure, Jeevamrut, and cow dung manure to improve soil structure and water retention. Additionally, scientists shared advanced techniques for scientific fish farming and pond management to boost income. The program also covered livestock management, emphasizing balanced nutrition, mineral supplements, regular deworming, and timely vaccination to enhance productivity and economic stability.
