ICAR in India opens recruitment for Young Professional and Project Assistant posts

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) announced two separate recruitment drives for 2026. ICAR's Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) seeks a Young Professional II, offering a single contract position with a monthly stipend of Rs 42,000. Eligible candidates must hold a postgraduate degree in life‑science disciplines such as nematology, molecular biology, biotechnology, genetics, plant breeding or botany and be aged between 21 and 45 years. Applications are to be submitted by email within 21 days of the notification, with a deadline of 27 July 2026.

Separately, ICAR’s National Institute for Plant Biotechnology (NIPB) is hiring a Project Assistant I. The role, also a single contract posting, carries a monthly salary of Rs 25,000. Applicants must have a B.Sc. or equivalent graduation in biological sciences or a related field and may be up to 50 years old. Selection will be made through a walk‑in interview scheduled for 20 July 2026.
