ICC Cricket World Cup 2027 ticket demand exceeds 15 million
The International Cricket Council (ICC) reported that ticket applications for the 2027 Men’s Cricket World Cup have exceeded 15 million within just 12 days of the ballot opening. This surge includes over 4.4 million ballot registrations from fans across 142 countries.
The tournament is scheduled to be co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. It marks the return of the event to the African continent after 24 years and will feature a new format. ICC Chief Executive Officer Sanjog Gupta stated that the high demand reflects the stature of the tournament and the appeal of Africa as a destination.
Registration for the ticket ballot remains open until November 21, 2026, which is exactly one year before the final is set to take place at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.
