ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan Suspended Amid Sexual Misconduct Investigation

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has suspended its chief prosecutor, Karim Khan, pending a vote by the court's 125 member states on his future. The suspension follows an 18‑month internal investigation into allegations that Khan engaged in repeated sexual misconduct with a female lawyer in his office. Khan denies the accusations.

The ICC's governing body will present its findings to all member states, which will decide by secret ballot whether to remove Khan from office. His suspension raises questions about the status of high‑profile cases his office pursued, including arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
