ICE agents conduct raids in New Jersey amid warehouse detention reports
Federal immigration agents have conducted raids in New Jersey, including an incident in Parsippany where four individuals were detained from a landscape design truck on North Beverwyck Road.
An investigation suggests that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) may be using a warehouse in Roxbury as a detention facility. This usage reportedly persists despite a court order that legally forbids the government from converting such warehouses into detention centers pending environmental assessments.
The facility is part of a billion-dollar Department of Homeland Security plan to utilize warehouses for migrant detention as part of mass deportation efforts. A government contractor, speaking anonymously, claimed that while some officials within the Department of Homeland Security expressed concerns about the suitability of warehouses, White House advisor Stephen Miller reportedly desired facilities that were “cruel” and “painful.”
