ICE agents detain and strike U.S. citizen in Texas

José Reyes, a U.S. citizen, has accused Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents of violently detaining and striking him during an incident in Donna, Texas. Reyes reported that federal agents intercepted his vehicle while he was traveling with his pregnant wife and one-year-old daughter after dropping his other children at school.

According to Reyes, agents claimed his vehicle's license plate was linked to an address associated with undocumented immigrants. Despite Reyes repeatedly stating his citizenship and offering his driver's license, agents allegedly questioned the authenticity of his identification. Reyes claims he was forcibly removed from his truck, struck in the head, and handcuffed.

The confrontation escalated as Reyes expressed fear for his family's safety. ICE agents reportedly released Reyes after confirming his citizenship through radio communication.
