ICE arrests 121 in North Texas lake-area operation

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) conducted a summer enforcement operation near Lewisville Lake in North Texas, resulting in 121 arrests. The initiative, which ran from late June through Labor Day, targeted unlawfully present foreign nationals during the peak boating season.

Among those detained were two individuals who allegedly identified themselves as members of Tren de Aragua, a transnational gang designated by the U.S. State Department as a foreign terrorist organization. The arrested individuals reportedly have criminal histories including assault, theft, burglary, driving while intoxicated, and cases involving sexual assault or indecency with a child.

The operation was a collaborative effort involving ICE Dallas, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Lewisville Police Department. ICE Dallas Field Office Director Miguel Vergara stated that the partnership allowed law enforcement to focus on public safety and effectively use limited resources.
