ICE arrests 131 suspected gang members in one week
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 131 individuals with alleged gang affiliations between October 4 and October 10, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The group of detainees includes 22 individuals affiliated with MS-13 and 13 members of Tren de Aragua (TdA), both of which were designated as foreign terrorist organizations by the State Department in February 2025.
DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin stated that the arrests are part of an effort to remove public safety threats from U.S. communities. The agency reported that ICE has conducted more than 12,000 gang-related arrests during the current presidential term.
Specific cases highlighted include a 14-year-old Venezuelan gang member arrested in Denver facing charges related to attempted murder, and Gustavo Adolfo Flores-Ramirez, a Salvadoran national and alleged MS-13 member, who was apprehended in Las Vegas. Flores-Ramirez is reportedly wanted in El Salvador for multiple violent crimes, including aggravated homicide and rape.
