ICE arrests Nigerian national in Pennsylvania following disorderly conduct charge
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested Chimaobim Adedayo Igbojekwe, a Nigerian national, in Pennsylvania. Igbojekwe was reportedly working as a canvasser for Janelle Stelson, the Democratic nominee for Pennsylvania’s 10th congressional district, at the time of his arrest.
Igbojekwe was taken into custody following a guilty plea to a charge of third-degree misdemeanor disorderly conduct related to an incident where he allegedly exposed himself in public. According to the Department of Homeland Security, Igbojekwe was lawfully admitted to the United States in June 2017 but remained in the country illegally after his authorized period expired in 2019. He had previously been granted deferred action by the Biden administration in 2021.
The Stelson campaign has denied any affiliation with Igbojekwe, stating they had no knowledge of him prior to the news of his arrest. Campaign manager Alma Baker stated, “This individual is not and has never been employed by the Janelle Stelson campaign.”
