ICE deports foreign nationals with violent criminal convictions

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has conducted a series of deportations targeting foreign nationals with criminal convictions, including gang members. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Markwayne Mullin stated that the agency is fulfilling a mandate to deport illegal aliens to increase national safety.

Among those deported were several individuals with violent criminal records. Jonas Perez-Rodriguez of Mexico, a Surenos gang member, was deported following convictions for manslaughter and aggravated assault. Jhony Mejia of Honduras, also a Surenos member, was deported after being convicted of attempted willful murder. Other deportees included Jose Enrique Galindo-Arteaga and Carlos Narciso Villarreal, both Mexican nationals, and Francisco Lux Juarez, a Guatemalan national convicted of rape.

Additional deportations included Lezman Donery Gomez Lopez of Honduras for felony burglary, Floyd Tayler of Canada for assault and unlawful imprisonment, and Yero Lee of South Korea for attempted murder. DHS officials noted that these enforcement actions are part of a broader effort to address crime and secure the border.
