ICE deports Mexican national convicted of abusing daughter in Virginia

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has deported Marcelo Vasquez Reyna, a Mexican national, following his conviction for the sexual abuse of his daughter in Virginia.

According to court records from the Albemarle County Circuit Criminal Division, Vasquez Reyna pleaded guilty in March to charges involving a parent violating a child between the ages of 15 and 17. The incident occurred in 2018. He received a sentence of five years and six months in prison, with five years suspended. Local reports indicate he was also charged with attempted rape and abduction.

The Department of Homeland Security issued a statement regarding the deportation, asserting that criminals of this nature have ‘no sanctuary’ in the United States.
