ICE detains five Ecuadorian migrants in Londonderry, Vermont

On August 7, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Boston field office carried out a targeted immigration operation in Londonderry, Vermont, arresting five individuals of Ecuadorian descent. The detainees, described as construction workers, were taken into ICE custody without any children present. Similar detentions were reported in White River Junction, Vermont, and West Lebanon, New Hampshire. Video of the traffic‑stop arrest was recorded by a local resident and shared online, showing unmarked vehicles and officers in plain‑text "police" vests.

Migrant Justice confirmed the arrests, is in contact with the detainees’ families, and is providing support. State Representative Chris Morrow announced a community meeting to discuss the raid and broader immigration‑enforcement concerns.
