ICE protests spark arrests in Vermont and memorial rally in Bennington

In Williston, Vermont, anti‑ICE demonstrators entered a building on Industrial Avenue that houses an ICE call‑center. Police ordered the crowd to disperse; while many complied, 13 individuals refused and were arrested and charged. Among those detained were residents from nearby towns such as Burlington, Jericho, and New Hampshire, with one minor also held.

On July 24 in Bennington, Vermont, a “Say Their Names” protest organized by Bennington County Indivisible gathered more than 50 community members. Participants read aloud the names of over seventy people who died while in ICE custody or as a result of immigration‑enforcement actions, echoing a national day of action. Protest co‑coordinator Leslie Kielson emphasized the need to humanize the victims and keep their memory alive.
