Ice-T announces ‘Death Wish’ as working title for next Body Count album

Ice-T and guitarist Ernie C have announced that the working title for the next Body Count studio album is ‘Death Wish’. The band is currently in the early stages of the songwriting process, with the musicians focusing on developing riffs and ideas. Ice-T indicated that the release could be at least a year away as they aim to surpass the quality of their 2024 album, ‘Merciless’.

In addition to the band's progress, Ice-T revealed that his solo rap album, ‘Criminal Migraine’, is scheduled for release on the 17th of this month. He noted a strategic shift in distribution, stating that he will stop using streaming services for his releases and will instead sell records exclusively through his website, icet.com.

Regarding the musical direction, Ernie C described the band's sound as an evolution toward a heavier style, influenced by performing alongside harder acts at music festivals. When asked about political themes, Ice-T mentioned he has been keeping a distance from politics in his recent writing.
