Iceland Foods returns to South Korea via Lotte Mart partnership
UK-based frozen food retailer Iceland Foods is returning to the South Korean market through a new partnership with supermarket giant Lotte Mart. The collaboration will see the launch of ‘Iceland Concessions’ in approximately 45 Lotte Mart stores.
The initial rollout will feature more than 30 products, including seafood, ready meals, desserts, ice cream, and chips. The retailer intends to expand the product range as the partnership develops. This move follows Iceland’s previous presence in South Korea via Homeplus and aligns with the company’s broader strategy to grow its Asian footprint through concessions and partnerships rather than standalone stores.
Iceland Foods has recently expanded its presence in the Asia-Pacific region, including a partnership with BTG We Link in China and the launch of the ‘Iceland Lab’ concept in Beijing. The company also maintains existing partnerships in Thailand, Cambodia, and Brunei.
