Icelandic business: Statistics Iceland moves and Brimborg shifts brand focus
Statistics Iceland is relocating its offices from Borgartún 21A to Borgartún 26. Due to the move, the agency’s website and all internal systems will be offline from noon until the evening on Friday, September 4. Normal operations at the new location will commence on Monday, September 7.
In automotive news, Brimborg is shifting its focus within the Stellantis group. The company intends to cease the sale of Citroën and Opel brands, choosing instead to increase its emphasis on Peugeot.
Additionally, the EFTA Surveillance Authority (ESA) is preparing a case against the Icelandic state. The matter concerns the failure to implement Protocol 35 into Icelandic law, which is considered a violation of the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA) as it affects the uniformity of rules and rights across the 30 countries within the EU internal market.
