The Icelandic drama 'The Love That Remains' (original title 'El amor que permanece'), directed by Hlynur Pálmason, has been released in Mexican theatres. The film, which was selected to represent Iceland at the 98th Academy Awards in the Best International Feature category, follows a family torn apart after a childhood accident involving bows and arrows. Central to the story is Panda, an Icelandic Sheepdog who won the Palm Dog award at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.

The narrative explores the strained relationship between Magnus, a struggling fisherman, and Anna, an artist who decides to divorce. Their three children and Panda navigate the emotional fallout.
