Directorate of Health addresses SÁÁ staffing issues

The Icelandic Directorate of Health has addressed the difficult staffing situation at the SÁÁ facility in Vogur. In response to inquiries regarding doctors leaving their positions and sick leave disputes, the Directorate stated it is monitoring the situation daily and that measures have been taken to respond to the challenges.

Regarding the professional responsibility of doctors who have left their roles, the Directorate noted that such matters are considered human resources issues for the specific institution, unless patient safety is directly endangered. The Directorate declined to comment on the validity of individual sick leaves or the specifics of management disputes, emphasizing its focus remains on patient safety.
