ICF warns human unpreparedness is the greatest risk in AI adoption

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) warns that the primary risk of artificial intelligence in the corporate sector is human unpreparedness rather than technological limitations. Todd Hamilton, Global COO of the ICF, notes that while AI adoption is accelerating in Brazil, professional training is lagging; only 38% of organizations using AI currently offer employee training.

Effective integration requires leaders to understand when to trust AI, when to question it, and when human judgment remains essential. Hamilton identifies two problematic leadership behaviors: resisting AI entirely and adopting it precipitously without assessing risks or consequences. To mitigate these risks, organizations must focus on developing competencies that allow for responsible, strategic, and safe use of automated tools.
