Icfes reschedules Saber Pro and TyT exams due to earthquake
The Colombian Institute for Educational Evaluation (Icfes) has rescheduled the Saber Pro and Saber TyT exams for the second semester of 2026. Originally set for September 6, the exams will now take place on Sunday, October 18, 2026.
The decision follows a national emergency caused by a 7.4 magnitude earthquake on August 10. The seismic event damaged infrastructure in several regions, including Risaralda, Valle del Cauca, Chocó, Quindío, Caldas, and Cauca. Many of the educational institutions designated as testing sites were affected, making it impossible to guarantee the necessary safety and technical standards.
The rescheduling affects 180,929 registered students across 341 testing locations. New official summons will be available on October 2, 2026. Upon completion of the exams on October 18, Icfes will provide physical certificates that students can use as proof of completion for graduation requirements. Digital attendance certificates will be available starting November 9, 2026, and individual results are expected to be released on February 19, 2027.
