Icheon City announces 1.46 trillion KRW development plan through 2030

Icheon City has finalized its implementation plan for the 9th civil election term, committing 1.4595 trillion KRW through 2030. The plan encompasses 106 total projects, consisting of 79 core campaign promises and 27 additional tasks derived from regional issues and transition committee proposals.

The investment will be funded through a combination of national funds (155.9 billion KRW), provincial funds (401.4 billion KRW), city funds (881.6 billion KRW), and private resources (20.6 billion KRW).

The city's strategic direction is divided into eight policy areas:

• Industry: Establishing semiconductor material, component, and equipment industrial complexes in connection with SK hynix, building a semiconductor design research complex, and founding the Icheon New Industry Promotion Agency (ICON). • Transportation: Modernizing old terminals and expanding regional and metropolitan transport networks. • Urban Development: Expanding residential, transport, and commercial functions through the development of three station areas. • Education: Expanding AI-specialized education. • Culture and Sports: Developing 100 themed tourism contents and branding tourism resources. • Health and Welfare: Opening the Icheon-style Moonlight Children's Hospital and expanding pediatric/adolescent medical services. • Agriculture: Building advanced agricultural and livestock distribution centers. • Administration: Implementing digital twin technology, AI automation, and big data analysis.
