Icheon cooperatives launch Northern Integrated RPC project

Six agricultural cooperatives in the northern region of Icheon have held an inaugural general meeting and signed a business agreement to establish the Northern Integrated Rice Processing Complex (RPC). The project aims to complete construction by 2029.

The initiative seeks to strengthen the competitiveness of ‘Imgeumnimpyo Icheon Rice’ by unifying the entire process—from raw grain purchase and drying to storage, processing, and distribution. This centralized system is intended to ensure high quality and stable distribution.

The total project cost is approximately 39 billion KRW. Following a request for additional municipal support, Icheon City will provide an extra 7.8 billion KRW, which reduces the financial burden on the participating cooperatives by 50%.
