ICNIM 2026 International Congress held in Sapporo

The 34th Annual Meeting of the International Congress on Nutrition and Integrative Medicine (ICNIM 2026) took place in Sapporo, Japan, on September 12–13. The event brought together 394 participants from 24 countries and regions to discuss research regarding functional foods and their contributions to medical fields such as disease prevention, treatment support, and immunity.

Key presentations included research on the effects of AHCC® on pancreatic cancer patients, where a multi-center randomized controlled trial reported a significant extension in overall survival. Other topics covered the impact of functional foods on cognitive function, sleep, and high-intensity exercise performance.

A public symposium titled ‘Immune Balance’ was also held, featuring experts from institutions such as Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine, Osaka University, and Yale University. The session addressed the relationship between gut microbiota, allergies, and obesity, emphasizing the importance of lifestyle factors like diet and exercise in maintaining immune health.
