Icod de los Vinos announces urban renovation projects
The Icod de los Vinos City Council has announced two distinct urban improvement projects aimed at enhancing public spaces within the municipality.
In the La Centinela neighborhood, a project exceeding 400,000 euros will create an outdoor sports and leisure area specifically designed for adolescents. The development includes a multi-sport court, a pump track for wheeled sports, shaded rest areas, and a new playground for children aged one to six. The project also involves street reorganization to improve accessibility and traffic management. Construction is expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2027.
Additionally, the council is investing 63,121 euros to renovate the canopy in the Las Lajas neighborhood plaza. This follows damage caused by storm Therese in March. The project involves the installation of a new 472-square-meter tensioned sail to restore the area as a community meeting point for social and cultural activities. The council aims to have the new structure installed before the end of the year.
