ICPAK to host seminar on Finance Act 2026 and tax compliance

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) has announced a two-day Tax Compliance and Emerging Issues Seminar scheduled for August 27 and 28, 2026, in Nyeri. The training aims to assist professionals and businesses in navigating the Finance Act 2026, tax amnesty opportunities, Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) audits, and dispute resolution processes.

This seminar follows growing concerns regarding tax policy stability in Kenya. Recent discussions highlight the challenges businesses face with unpredictable tax changes, such as unexpected excise duties on imported materials. Experts note that frequent legislative shifts create inefficiency for both taxpayers and the KRA, often leading to increased litigation. In October 2024, reports indicated that Sh313.5 billion in tax revenue was tied up in courts and tribunals due to such disputes.
