ICR. T and UMC launch robotic surgery certification for urologists

The Instituto de Cirurgia Robótica do Triângulo (ICR. T), in partnership with the Hospital Uberlândia Medical Center (UMC), has launched a robotic surgery certification course specifically for urologists. Coordinated by Dr. Victor Hugo Borges Silva and Dr. Leandro Alves de Oliveira, the program utilizes the Da Vinci platform and simulation laboratories at UMC.

The training is structured into three distinct levels:

• Basic: A three-month program involving conceptual training, 10 hours of virtual simulator training, and observation of ten robotic surgeries.

• Intensive: A three-month program featuring 40 hours of simulator training, participation as an assistant in robotic procedures, and console practice during ten surgeries under supervision.

• Advanced: A ten-month program consisting of approximately 100 hours of theoretical and practical activities, including advanced simulator training, surgical assistance, and direct supervised console practice.

Dr. Victor Hugo noted that the program's goal is to provide progressive, experience-based training that helps surgeons understand how technology integrates with surgical planning and team coordination.
