ICRC reports 275,000 people missing in Russia-Ukraine war
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) reported that 275,000 people remain missing due to the war between Russia and Ukraine. Mirjana Spoljaric, President of the ICRC, presented these findings during an event accompanying the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
According to the data, approximately 10,000 new missing person cases are registered every month. The total figure includes individuals from both sides of the conflict. The ICRC emphasized that this number does not strictly represent fatalities, as the status of a missing person indicates a lack of confirmed information regarding whether they are dead, wounded, in captivity, evacuated without contact, or living under different identities.
