ICSA workers in Illescas call for strike after 50 job losses

Workers at Internacional de Composites (ICSA) in Illescas, Spain, have voted to strike following the loss of more than 50 jobs. The decision was reached by a majority during assemblies held by the works committee, which includes representatives from the CCOO, UGT, and USO unions.

Union leaders claim the company has failed to honor previous agreements. Last year, employees agreed to postpone collective bargaining negotiations to help the company meet order backlogs. However, workers allege that despite meeting delivery deadlines, management has refused to implement the agreed-upon improvements and has instead engaged in what they describe as “repression and labor abuses.”

The dispute has led to significant turnover, with veteran employees and new hires alike reportedly leaving the company. The works committee has notified Airbus, ICSA’s primary client, warning that the loss of key personnel—particularly in the Quality department—could lead to increased manufacturing defects. Unions are demanding the resignation of the management committee, citing incompetence and a breach of fundamental rights.
