ICTSI connects Rio terminal to seven additional Brazilian ports

International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) has expanded the connectivity of its Rio Brasil Terminal (RBT) at the Port of Rio de Janeiro through a new regular Norcoast service. Launched in July, the service enhances domestic cabotage and feeder cargo options by linking Rio de Janeiro to seven additional Brazilian ports: Manaus, Pecem, Suape, Salvador, Santos, Paranagua, and Itajai, as well as the Manaus Free Trade Zone.

The new route aims to capture demand from sectors including steel, beverages, and consumer goods. RBT leverages existing road and rail connections to serve cargo from Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, and the Greater São Paulo region. Key rail links include the Floriano, Suzano, and São José dos Campos ramps, supported by the terminal’s recent expansion in the Alto Tiete region.
