Idaho Highway Crashes Claim Two Lives in Separate Incidents
An 82‑year‑old driver from Sandpoint died after his 2025 Jeep Compass rolled off State Highway 200 and entered the water near Lake Pend Oreille in Bonner County on July 30. The Idaho State Police reported the vehicle left the roadway, descended a steep embankment and overturned; the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A separate collision on Interstate 84 near mile marker 39 in Canyon County on November 25, 2025 involved a 2013 Ford box truck rear‑ended by a 2007 GMC pickup. The crash killed a juvenile passenger in the pickup and injured three other occupants, who were taken to a local hospital. Idaho State Police continue to investigate both accidents.
