Idaho Launches Online Map of Trans-Inclusive Bathrooms Amid New Restrictive Law

LGBTQ+ advocates in Idaho created the “Idaho Inclusive Bathroom Map,” an online directory of businesses, community venues and other locations that offer gender‑neutral or single‑stall restrooms safe for transgender people. The map, compiled by the nonprofit Trans Affirm, will be updated as policies and access arrangements evolve.

The resource was launched after Idaho enacted HB 752 on 1 July, a law that criminalizes the use of public restrooms that do not correspond with a person’s sex assigned at birth. First‑offence convictions can carry up to one year in jail and repeat offences may be charged as felonies. Parts of the law’s enforcement were temporarily blocked by a federal judge on 16 June while a legal challenge, brought by transgender Idaho residents and supported by the ACLU, proceeds. Advocates say the map provides practical guidance and safety for transgender Idahoans navigating everyday public spaces.
