Idaho weather forecast warns of storms and flash flood risks
A low-pressure system approaching from the south is expected to bring thunderstorms and scattered rain to the region starting Thursday afternoon. As the storm intensifies heading into Friday, temperatures are projected to drop significantly, bringing a rain and snow mix to higher elevations and gusty winds reaching up to 30 mph.
A flash flood watch has been issued for the Big Rock and Ohio burn scars from Thursday evening through Friday afternoon. Heavy rainfall in these areas could trigger flash flooding and debris flows. Following the storm, conditions are expected to clear by Saturday, leading to sunny but cold weather with highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s.
