Idda to open Panorama Italia section at Alice nella Città

The film “Idda”, the second feature film directed by Irene Dionisio, will serve as the opening film for the Panorama Italia section of the 24th Alice nella Città festival. The festival is scheduled to take place from October 13 to 25, 2026.

Following success at the Toronto International Film Festival, the film stars Tecla Insolia and Romana Maggiora Vergano, alongside Giuseppe De Domenico. The narrative follows two childhood friends who reunite to face the eruption of Mount Etna, exploring themes of femininity and connection amidst the volcanic landscape.

Produced by Kino Produzioni with Rai Cinema, the project received support from various entities, including the MiC – Direzione Generale Cinema e Audiovisivo and Creative Europe MEDIA. The film is set for a theatrical release distributed by FilmClub Distribuzione in collaboration with Minerva Pictures.
