IdeaFest 2026 explores human role in AI era

The 15th annual IdeaFest is being held from September 4 to September 6, 2026, at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC). This year’s event adopts the theme ‘Re:Humanize,’ focusing on the role of humanity amidst the rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The conference features over 500 speakers across more than 160 sessions. The theme addresses the increasing integration of AI in daily life and work, noting that according to PwC, 69% of Indonesian workers have used AI in the past year, with 16% using it daily.

IdeaFest Co-Chair Ben Soebiakto stated that the goal is to explore how technology can expand human potential without sacrificing creativity, empathy, and meaning. The event also aligns with government views on AI as a tool to accelerate innovation within Indonesia’s creative economy, a sector that contributes over Rp1,500 trillion to the national GDP and employs more than 26.5 million people.
