iDEE Convention in Turin highlights women's contributions

The 22nd iDEE Convention, representing the Association of Women in Cooperative Credit, took place at the Lingotto Congress Center in Turin. Under the theme ‘Tutta un’altra storia. Il contributo femminile che fa la differenza’, the event focused on the essential contributions of women in political participation, scientific research, and leadership.

During the proceedings, iDEE President Teresa Fiordelisi addressed the issue of female invisibility in media and collective consciousness. She noted that according to the Global Media Monitoring Project 2025, women account for only 26% of people seen or heard in news reports globally. This lack of representation is linked to a lower presence of women in economic and political decision-making roles. Data from the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) further highlights a significant gender gap in the ‘power’ dimension in Italy, specifically regarding female representation in political institutions and corporate boards.
