Çiğdem Ağdağ Baydoğan runs for Malatya Bar Association presidency

Lawyer Çiğdem Ağdağ Baydoğan has announced her candidacy for the presidency of the Malatya Bar Association. If elected, she would become the first female president of the association. Baydoğan has pledged a management style centered on transparency, merit, and professional focus, drawing on her previous experience in roles such as Secretary General and various commission leaderships.

Baydoğan highlighted the significant challenges facing the legal system in Malatya following the February 6, 2023, earthquakes. She noted that because courthouse buildings became unusable, justice services are currently fragmented across different locations, causing difficulties for both lawyers and citizens. She emphasized that as the city rebuilds, the justice system must also be restored.

Furthermore, Baydoğan stated that the Bar Association must act as a legal safeguard for the city, particularly regarding property disputes, rights losses, and the protection of women and children arising from the earthquake. She also committed to addressing issues related to the Criminal Procedure Code (CMK) and legal aid.
