iDenfy launches standalone facial age‑estimation tool

Lithuania‑based identity verification provider iDenfy has added a standalone facial age‑estimation feature to its onboarding platform. The new tool estimates a user’s age from a live selfie with a typical margin of error of about three years, removing the need for a government‑issued ID in most cases. It operates through its own permission structure, billing model, API endpoints and a dedicated dashboard view, allowing partners to run age checks at scale while keeping session details centralized.

Users whose estimated age falls near a regulatory limit are automatically routed to a traditional document‑verification step within the same session. iDenfy says the feature supports compliance with regulations such as the UK Online Safety Act and the EU Digital Services Act, and is aimed at industries like iGaming and finance that must enforce age‑based access controls.
