Identity theft scams target authorities in Senegal and France

Governmental and regional authorities in Senegal and France have issued warnings regarding identity theft and phishing scams targeting citizens and businesses.

In Senegal, the Ministry of Urbanism, Territorial Collectivities and Territorial Planning warned against a fraudulent website, ‘pnapv-sn. com’, which is circulating on social media platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp. The site uses the ministry’s name and imagery to offer fake administrative registrations and reservations. The ministry has notified cybercrime services and regulatory bodies to dismantle the operation and has urged citizens not to share personal data or make payments through the platform.

In France, the Manche Department reported that fraudulent emails are being sent to service providers using the department’s official logo. These emails attempt to collect copies of outstanding invoices, a tactic often used as a precursor to further financial scams. The local authority has advised residents and businesses to remain vigilant and report any suspicious correspondence.
