IDF dismantles Hezbollah underground command infrastructure in Lebanon
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has completed operations to dismantle Hezbollah’s underground command, control, and combat infrastructure beneath the Ali al-Taher ridge in southeastern Lebanon. IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, visiting the 36th Armored Division, stated that the network was built with Iranian assistance and contained advanced Iranian-made weapons intended for use against Israeli troops and communities.
Zamir emphasized that the IDF will not permit Hezbollah to rebuild its capabilities in the region. He noted that the destruction of such infrastructure often impacts local Lebanese villages when combat facilities are established beneath civilian homes.
Regarding the security situation, Zamir confirmed that the ‘Yellow Line’—the area under Israeli operational control in southern Lebanon—remains unchanged. He also addressed the U.S.-brokered framework agreement aimed at disarming Hezbollah, stating that the Lebanese Armed Forces must demonstrate effectiveness on the ground for the agreement to advance.
