IDIS Powertel supports Seoul volunteer patrols with LTE walkie-talkies

IDIS Powertel has provided its ‘RADGER’ LTE walkie-talkies to the Seoul Volunteer Patrol Association for use during a recent job competency competition held in Yeouido, Seoul. The event included members from all 25 autonomous districts in Seoul.

Following the implementation of the ‘Volunteer Patrol Act’ in 2023 and subsequent police notifications designating walkie-talkies as essential equipment, many volunteer patrol groups are transitioning to integrated communication systems. IDIS Powertel reported that approximately 50 volunteer patrol groups nationwide have already adopted the RADGER LTE system.

The RADGER devices utilize KT LTE base stations to provide clear communication without dead zones, even in alleys or underground spaces. Key features include GPS-based location tracking, emergency communication, and a whistle function to enhance member safety and rapid field response.
