Idlib security forces arrest second cell linked to former regime spy network

Syrian authorities in Idlib have announced the arrest of a second security cell directly linked to an espionage and sabotage network associated with the former regime. Brigadier General Ghassan Bakir, commander of internal security in Idlib, stated that the operation was conducted by internal security forces in cooperation with the Counter-Terrorism Directorate following precise monitoring and surveillance.

The new arrests follow the dismantling of an initial network in June, which was reportedly involved in spying, photographing military sites, and providing coordinates to the previous regime for targeting operations. While the identities and exact number of the newly detained individuals have not been disclosed, investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the cell's activities and connections before they are referred to the judiciary.
