Iğdır State Hospital construction reaches 35% completion
AK Party Iğdır Deputy Cantürk Alagöz inspected the ongoing construction of the new 400-bed State Hospital in Iğdır. The project has reached 35 percent completion and is expected to be finished by 2027.
Once completed, the facility will span 20,000 square meters and include 15 operating rooms and 75 intensive care units, with the capacity to expand to 600 beds. Alagöz noted that the local healthcare infrastructure has already seen a significant impact, stating that the number of patients traveling outside of Iğdır for treatment has dropped by 85 percent.
During the visit, Alagöz addressed local concerns regarding medical appointment wait times. Following a citizen's complaint about cardiology appointment delays, an investigation revealed that a recent request made on a Friday had been scheduled for the following Tuesday, countering claims of systemic delays.
In a separate regional development, MHP Gümüşhane Deputy Musa Küçük inspected the construction of an additional service building for the Torul District State Hospital to strengthen local health infrastructure.
