İdris Naim Şahin: Former Turkish Minister of Interior and AK Parti founder
İdris Naim Şahin is a Turkish bureaucrat and politician who served as the Minister of Interior in the 61st Government from 2011 to 2013. Born in Ünye, Ordu, in 1956, he graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1976.
His career includes extensive experience as a district governor (kaymakam) and a chief inspector for the Ministry of Interior. He held significant administrative roles within the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality under Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and was a founding member of the Justice and Development Party (AK Parti), serving as its General Secretary from 2001 to 2011.
In addition to his roles in the AK Parti, Şahin has been involved with other political movements, including running as a candidate for the Ordu Metropolitan Municipality under the Saadet Party in 2019.
