IDTechEx to host webinar on semiconductor supply chain resilience

IDTechEx, a technology research firm, has announced a webinar and a new market research report focusing on the resilience and sustainability of semiconductor and electronics supply chains. The upcoming webinar, scheduled for October 8, 2026, will address how companies can integrate sustainability goals into their supply chain strategies.

The semiconductor and electronics industries are currently facing significant challenges, including high geographic concentration of manufacturing, geopolitical tensions, trade restrictions, and energy security uncertainties. Additionally, the rapid growth in demand for AI hardware is increasing pressure on electronic components and raw materials, while rising prices for copper, silver, and gold contribute to cost increases and supply instability.

To mitigate these risks, the research suggests a combination of supply chain diversification, onshoring (regional manufacturing), resource efficiency, and recycling. These strategies are intended to reduce risk and improve long-term competitiveness while supporting decarbonization and sustainability targets across the electronics value chain.
